Holistic Approach
Eco-Living Pods are offering temporary housing, alongside training followed by Employment opportunities. Through the basement advisory centre candidates will be supported throughout their journey to an independent, sustainable future.
The Basement Advisory Centre has been operating since 1999, supporting the homeless community in Liverpool. However, in recent years, the large space we own in Liverpool City Centre has become under utilised due to reduced funding. This space holds an exciting opportunity to serve our community in a new way, therefore we are rebranding and relaunching
The Basement to offer personal and professional support services to men in Liverpool. We have partnered with a local training company, Training Lives, who provide training and employment within the
  • rail,
  • transport and
  • construction industries.
We are also working alongside Training Lives and Liverpool City Council to offer temporary accommodation to the men in need of support. This Basement Advisory Centre will become the support network required for individuals to change their lives, be inspired, create opportunity and thrive both personally and professionally.
Support We Provide
Funding from the Asda Foundation will allow us to renovate the space, creating a modern, welcoming space for people to connect and feel supported as they transform their lives. The Asda Foundation will contribute to changing the image of the basement to attract vulnerable men in the City of Liverpool and provide support services, giving them the opportunities they deserve.
Navigate Your Journey: Essential Help and Resources.
There are currently 500+ single men living in council provided temporary accommodation in the City of Liverpool, with an increasing demand for housing and a depleted supply. This is due to a range of circumstances, including prison leavers and care leavers. Although the current system provides a place to sleep, it does not provide a route out of this way of life. Our project will create a hopeful path for these men to move out of these circumstances. We will offer supported temporary housing, training and employment opportunities, along with a lifelong support network at The Basement Advisory Centre. The Basement Advisory Centre will be the backbone of the project, providing a safe space to connect, attend coaching and mentoring support, engage in mindfulness workshops and career and professional development seminars. Our eco-living Pods holistic approach ensures we address the varied needs of our diverse community and provide a foundation to sustain a life outside of temporary accommodation. The social issues we are aiming to address include
  • homelessness,
  • unemployment,
  • skill shortages,
  • mental and
  • well-being support.
